about me

my name is shawnacy, and i don't capitalize. i do in real life... in my hardscrabble attempts at 'real' writing, but here... no. just to get that out of the way.

aside from being a civilly disobedient grammarian, i am a single mom of seven kids, ranging in age from 21 to 2. (four of my own and three utterly wonderful live-in stepkids) so, naturally, i'll have a thing or two to say
about that. i try to do at least one post a week (often more) with fun activities/ funny stories from our house

this is a pretty major time of transition for us as a family, and for me in particular. the end of a 10 year relationship has been understandably difficult for all concerned.

it has, however, given me leave and, really, a pressing need to pursue meaningful work. i'm (*fingers crossed) on my way to school soon to get myself a little PhD, and some guidance in writing. which is, really, what i do, i suppose.

and along with all of that... and mostly for the sake of my own sanity, i'm also kind of crafty. i love to crochet, to draw and paint and collage and take pictures, and make messes. i have a little Etsy shop called 'hey, moony' where i ply my wares as i may. there will be much of that here.

additionally, we love to be out of doors.                                      indeed, out of all

kinds of architecture... walls, windows, roofs... and we like to go on adventures. you'll see that reflected here.

my boys are diagnosed ADHD, which has affected our lives in the way we eat, and the activities we choose to do. that will show up here.

so... it's messy and many-faceted, but isn't that life at it's truest? so
here's hoping that you'll find a place to fit, comfortably, and that you'll join me in a cup of tea, a jolly conversation, and a life truly, gleefully, beautifully, simply, and absolutely lived.

I came across your website and found it very enjoyable. I just had a couple of questions so if you could e-mail me back that would be great!
